इंडियन प्रीमियर लीग के 2025 सीजन के लिए हुई नीलामी में कुछ ही घंटों में 639.15 करोड़ लुटाए गए। 10 टीमों ने दुनियाभर के क्रिकेटरों के बैंक अकाउंट को भरने में कोई कोताही नहीं की। पैसों की बरसात के बीच ऋषभ पंत सबसे महंगे 27 करोड़ रुपये में लखनऊ सुपरजायंट्स टीम में गए तो श्रेयस अय्यर 26.75 करोड़ रुपये के साथ पंजाब किंग्स टीम में शामिल हुए। दूसरी ओर, पाकिस्तान की क्रिकेट लीग पाकिस्तान सुपर लीग यानी पीएसएल का भी ऑक्शन होना है। माना जा रहा है कि जो आईपीएल ऑक्शन में नहीं बिके हैं उन बड़े नामों पर पीएसएल की टीमों की नजरें हैं। यानी आईपीएल से जो बचे हैं वह पीएसएल में अपनी किस्मत आजमाएंगे।
खैर, ये तो वो बातें हैं, जो आप जानते हैं। जो नहीं जानते हैं वह यह है कि आईपीएल 2024 में सभी 10 टीमों का कुल रेवेन्यू पिछले सीजन यानी 2023 से डबल हो गया है। टॉफ्लर के अनुसार, आईपीएल 2024 का रेवेन्यू 6,797 करोड़ रुपये रहा, जो पिछले सीजन 3,082 करोड़ से दोगुना है। इस राशि को अगर और भी आसान तरीके से समझना हो तो यूं समझें कि आईपीएल 2024 का रेवेन्यू पाकिस्तान के रक्षा बजट जितना रहा। यह वह रक्षा बजट है, जिसके दम पर वह उछलता-कूदता है।
जी हां, हैरान होने की जरूरत नहीं है। एक पाकिस्तानी न्यूज रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, पाकिस्तान का 2024 में रक्षा बजट 7.64 बिलियन यूएस डॉलर यानी 2,122 अरब पाकिस्तानी रुपये था। अगर इसे भारतीय रुपये में बदला जाए तो 6497 करोड़ रुपये होता है। यानी पाकिस्तान के रक्षा बजट से अधिक भारतीय क्रिकेट लीग की 10 टीमों का रेवेन्यू है, जिसकी कीमत में हर साल दोगुना बढ़ोतरी दर्ज की जा सकती है।

रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, विशेषज्ञों ने इस उछाल का श्रेय लीग की बढ़ती लोकप्रियता को दिया, जो स्मार्ट मीडिया डील और आकर्षक स्पॉन्सरशिप डील की वजह से हुई है। भारतीय क्रिकेट कंट्रोल बोर्ड (BCCI), डिज्नी स्टार और वायकॉम 18 के बीच 2022 में रिकॉर्ड 48,390 करोड़ का मीडिया राइट्स की डील हुई थी, जो अब मिलकर JioStar बन गया है। प्रसारण राजस्व के अलावा BCCI ने टाटा समूह, My11Circle, Ceat और AngelOne सहित प्रमुख ब्रांडों के साथ बहु-वर्षीय स्पॉन्सरशिप डील से 4,000 करोड़ रुपये से अधिक की कमाई की।
'दिन दोगुना रात चौगुना' बढ़ रही आईपीएल की कीमत
ब्रांड फाइनेंस की हालिया रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, आईपीएल का ब्रांड मूल्य 2023 की तुलना में 2024 में 13% बढ़कर 12 बिलियन डॉलर (7.64 बिलियन डॉलर पाकिस्तान का रक्षा बजट इसके आगे लड्डू है) तक पहुंच गया है, जो 2009 में इसके 2 बिलियन डॉलर के मूल्यांकन से अधिक है। उल्लेखनीय रूप से चार फ्रेंचाइजी- चेन्नई सुपर किंग्स (सीएसके), मुंबई इंडियंस (एमआई), रॉयल चैलेंजर्स बैंगलोर (आरसीबी), और कोलकाता नाइटराइडर्स (केकेआर) ने ब्रांड मूल्य में 100 मिलियन डॉलर का आंकड़ा पार कर लिया है।
चैंपियंस ट्रॉफी 2025 पर आंख दिखा रहा है पाकिस्तान
यहां बताना जरूरी है कि पाकिस्तान को होने वाली क्रिकेट से कमाई भारत पर ही निर्भर है। आईसीसी की कमाई का बड़ा हिस्सा भारत से जाता है। इसके बावजूद वह आईसीसी चैंपियंस ट्रॉफी के लिए पाकिस्तान जाने से भारत के इनकार करने के बावजूद तरह-तरह की शर्तें रखने की नाकाम कोशिशें और ड्रामे करने से बाज नहीं आ रहा है। हालांकि, रिपोर्ट की मानें तो आईसीसी इस बात पर फैसला कर चुका है कि टूर्नामेंट हाइब्रिड मॉडल से खेला जाएगा। भारत की एक लाइन में शर्त यह है कि सीमा पर अपने क्षेत्र से होने वाली आतंकी गतिविधियों पर पाकिस्तान लगाए।
