Aurangabad-Osmanabad Cities Name Change: सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने शुक्रवार (2 अगस्त) को महाराष्ट्र सरकार के उस फैसले को हरी झंडी दी, जिसमें राज्य के दो शहरों का नाम बदलने का फैसला किया गया था. महाराष्ट्र सरकार के जरिए राज्य के औरंगाबाद का नाम बदलकर छत्रपति संभाजी नगर और उस्मानाबाद का नाम धाराशिव रखने के खिलाफ सुप्रीम कोर्ट में याचिका दायर की गई थी. देश की शीर्ष अदालत ने इस याचिका को खारिज कर दिया.
दरअसल, याचिकाकर्ताओं ने पहले बॉम्बे हाईकोर्ट का दरवाजा खटखटाया था, जिसने राज्य सरकार के फैसले में किसी तरह की वैधानिक चुनौती नहीं देखी और उसे सही ठहराया. इसके बाद याचिकाकर्ता हाईकोर्ट के फैसले के खिलाफ सुप्रीम कोर्ट पहुंच गए. उन्हें उम्मीद थी कि सुप्रीम कोर्ट का फैसला उनके पक्ष में आएगा. हालांकि, ऐसा नहीं हुआ और अदालत ने इस याचिका को खारिज कर महाराष्ट्र सरकार के फैसले को हरी झंडी दिखा दी.
फैसले की न्यायिक समीक्षा की जरूरत नहीं: सुप्रीम कोर्ट
सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने कहा कि नाम बदलना सरकार का अधिकार होता है. इसकी न्यायिक समीक्षा की जरूरत नहीं होती है. हाईकोर्ट ने आपकी बात सुनकर ही विस्तृत आदेश दिया है. हम उसमें दखल नहीं देंगे. इससे पहले 8 मई को हाई कोर्ट ने औरंगाबाद का नाम बदल कर छत्रपति संभाजी नगर और उस्मानाबाद का नाम धाराशिव करने के राज्य सरकार के फैसले को सही ठहराया था. कोर्ट ने कहा था कि फैसला कानूनी रूप से सही है. अब सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने भी उस पर मोहर लगाई है.
